Following with the historic character of New York City’s SoHo district. MaxStudio.com’s newest store location maintains that distinctive downtown vibe. The intermixing of materials brings the sidewalk into the shopping space with a warm and inviting magnetism. Similar to MaxStudio.com’s previous shop design, this store incorporates new materials and textures which allow the supplicated sensibility to shine through and most literally, as the ceiling glows throughout the entire store.
Completed in cooperation with architect George Yu, the store uses innovative and modern products with rustic texture and ambience to coincide with SoHo’s neighborhood feel.
MaxStudio.com’s new West Broadway store integrates techniques and features that are exclusive to this location such as:
Italian limestone flooring with a natural stone finish is a seamless transition from the sidewalk and street.
Walls are hand troweled with a Venetian plastering technique.
Plychem cement board, which has been cut with a water jet into an abstract pattern of dashes serve as ventilation for the fitting rooms and stairwell walls.
A translucent Barisol ceiling crafted in France was used throughout the store. Subtly backlit, the overhead lighting yields a healthy even glow to the collection.
Frosted glass dressing rooms serve as a backdrop to the custom made aluminum-elongated table.
Floating glass cases, freestanding racks, and low Japanese inspired crystal display tables keep with the minimalist environment. |
